At Neo Code Software, we pride ourselves on providing tailored, reliable FileMaker hosting solutions to meet our clients’ unique needs. One such client, a world-leading packaging manufacturer in Vancouver, has been a valued partner, replacing their internal hosting and relying on us for hosting FileMaker Server.

As part of our comprehensive service, we have been hosting the client’s FileMaker Server on a Windows Virtual Machine (VM) using our specialized Neo Code Cloud Hosting Services. This service is perfect for clients who own Claris FileMaker licenses (available for purchase from Neo Code) and need a reliable hosting solution. With support for FileMaker Pro/FileMaker Go connections, Data API/OData, plugins, ESS, and ODBC/JDBC publishing, the client’s FileMaker applications are always accessible, secure, and performant.

The implementation process began with the initial setup, where we configured the database for testing, then migrated and went live. During testing, we identified the need to adjust the virtual machine configuration to support WebDirect for users. Additionally, we made changes to PHP pages specific to the new configuration and adjusted some functionalities.

Beyond the core service, we provided additional support for setting up ODBC DSN for ESS. We prepared specifications, set up, and tested the ODBC DSN and FileMaker External SQL Sources (ESS) functionality, allowing the client to connect to external data sources efficiently. To secure the ODBC connection, we set up a site-to-site VPN, preparing specifications, and thoroughly testing the VPN.

To address the client’s backup needs, we implemented our Single S3 Bucket Weekly File Backup Monitoring Service. This service ensures weekly backups are conducted reliably, with alerts sent to a designated Gmail account for easy forwarding and management. We established a weekly backup schedule and actively monitored the backups, ensuring any issues were promptly addressed. This systematic approach provided the client with the assurance that their critical data was being handled with the utmost care and attention. In addition, we configured offsite backups to further secure their data.

Recognizing the critical nature of their data, the client turned to us to ensure their backups are not only completed but also actively monitored for any issues. Our comprehensive services have provided the client with the confidence that their data is secure and their operations are running smoothly.
