As the largest Health Authority in British Columbia, PHSA required a solution to an extraordinary workgroup problem – a proliferation of desktop MS Access applications. The wide utilization of stand-alone MS Access applications had exposed the Health Authority to an unacceptable range of risks – from security & privacy to data recovery and business interruption. NeoCode’s solution? FileMaker Server.
Working closely with PHSA’s IMITS (Information Management and Information Technology Services) department Neo Code’s team of Project Manager, Business Analyst, System Architect and Lead Developers tackled the problems of creating a complete environment for adoption, sustainability and oversight of FileMaker applications. Key stakeholders from within PHSA met on a weekly basis to guide the course of the project.
Technically challenging and spanning 12 months the project not only oversaw the installation and set up of key server resources but also created a customized tool for IMITS system administrators to manage new project requests and track existing applications.
Additionally, the Proof-of-Concept mandate required NeoCode’s team to actively demonstrate success by engaging in specific projects including re-building and enhancing a complex MS Access application for use by clinical groups within Providence Health Care.
